pdf  Key magneto-stratigraphic sequence of the Lower Ordovician deposits, north-western Siberian platform
Key magnetostratigraphic sequence of the Lower Ordovician is constructed, including Nya Tremadoc horizon, Ugorsky and Kimaisky horizons of the Arenigo. Sequence on the right bank of the Kulyumbe river (Iltyksk formation, represented by carbonate rocks) has been studied. The character of geomagnetic field variation in the Early Ordovician (notably Tremadoc and Areniga boundary) is traced. Stratigraphic level of the geomagnetic polarity change in the sequence-stratotype of the Lower Ordovician on the Kulyumbe river provides the broad prospects for the synchronization of this boundary according to paleomagnetic data not only within the territory of Siberian plate, but also within its framework.
Key words: polarity, magnetostratigraphy, Lower Ordovician, the Kulyumbe river, Siberian platform.
