pdf  Aptian incised river valleys of the Kamennoye field, Western Siberia: regional aspects of petroleum potential
Incised paleovalleys, formed in response to relative fall of a sea level, are the bright indicator of a regional unconformity and genetically related potentially highly prospective depositional systems of lowstand deltas, shoreline, basin slope and floor fans. Because of this, revealing even a local fragment of the incised paleovalleys may have regional paleogeographic, stratigraphic and hydrocarbon prospecting consequences. The identification of the Aptian incised valleys at the Kamennoye field, Western Siberia, has given a key to recognizing a regional unconformity (sequence boundary 1) as well as to forecasting the objects prospective for oil and gas related to lowstand deposits.

Key words: incised valleys, unconformity, sequence boundary 1, petroleum prospects, Vikulov formation, Aptian, Krasnoleninsk arch, Western Siberia.
