| Evaluation of total initial hydrocarbon resources of the Timan-Pechora province using simulation modeling method | |
| Over the past 30 years, official estimates of recoverable total initial oil resources of the Timan-Pechora province have increased by almost two-fold. Because of this and despite the huge amount of exploration and growth of commercial reserves, the coefficient of oil resources exploration in the region remains constant. The sharp reduction in the size of new discovered fields can be associated with overvaluation of the total initial resources; and this fact is confirmed by simulation modeling.
