	Although Russian domestic classification of oil and gas reserves, has common roots with foreign classifications, it has been developing for a long time in a direction different from the international classification. Its development took place along the way to increase the number of classification categories of resources and reserves, accompanied by the decreasing of the requirements to their validity, especially economic feasibility; while foreign classifications took place along the way of detailing and stringent of requirements to the most reasonable category of reserves - proved reserves, primarily commercial requirements. Russian companies have to combine alternative approaches to classification requirements, and account their oil and gas reserves by double standards - domestic and international.
