pdf  Anisotropy of various magnetic parameters use for determining directions of material transfer in the study of turbidite currents
The carbonate clastic fans are considered as promising objects for oil and gas prospecting targets. Thus reconstruction of the fan morphology, sources and directions is an important practical task. The method for detecting the turbidite currents based on investigation of the anisotropy of susceptibility ellipsoids axes is described. The new model of main axes distribution is developed. Study of 13 objects allows us reconstructing directions of the turbidite currents of the Ural Foredeep for the two time-slices and draw maps demonstrating palaeogeographical position of the carbonate material sources.
Key words: anisotropy, magnetic susceptibility, turbidites, direction of material transfer, paleogeography, reconstruction, fan morphology, Ural Foredeep.
