pdf  Results of laboratory simulation of microbiological transformation of organic matter of modern freshwater sediments
The developing of the microbiological processes of transformation of organic matter of modern lake sediments are investigated under anaerobic conditions according to the results of laboratory simulation.
The transformation of organic matter under methanogenesis conditions - denitrification and sulfate-reduction, depending on the amount and composition of organic matter, the nature of biocenosis and mineral composition of sediment. The bitumen formation is related to methanogenesis. Biochemical transformation of organic matter under anaerobic conditions is accompanied by gas formation. The volume, composition and dynamics of gas generation depends on the developing of the process and the composition of the organic matter.
The generation of saturated and unsaturated homologs of methane is identified in small quantities. The balance calculations of the transformation of main characteristics of organic matter of modern lake sediments are conducted.
