pdf Modeling of petroleum systems of the eastern limit of the Western Siberian basin in the south-east of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District
Based on the results of basin modeling of petroleum systems in the east of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the features of the petroleum system of the eastern side of the Western Siberian basin were studied. Several oil and gas source strata have been identified, the main of which are associated with the Upper Jurassic and Lower-Middle Jurassic intervals. The main centers of hydrocarbon generation are the Nizhne-Pur and Taz troughs and their bordering zones. In the west of the territory, the maximum level of productivity is observed from the Lower and Middle Jurassic to the Upper Cretaceous, and the processes of vertical migration play an important role. To the east, lateral migration hydrocarbon becomes more important, and the productivity level is reduced. The limiting range of effective lateral migration from the source of hydrocarbon generation is estimated at 150-200 km.

pdf Assessment of the petroleum generation potential of the pre-Jurassic strata in the Western Kaymisov petroleum region
The article discusses the possibility of petroleum generating in Triassic and Paleozoic sedimentary strata within the Kaimysov petroleum region in the south of the Western Siberian petroleum province. The results of pyrolytic studies show that most of the pre-Jurassic petroleum source rocks in the studied area have a very high degree of catagenetic transformation and have completely exhausted their generation potential. To assess the phases composition and specific volumes of hydrocarbons, presumably generated by these rocks, a multi-1D basin modeling was performed with testing scenarios concerning different depths and thicknesses of petroleum source rocks, in the presence or absence of the magma chamber thermal effects. As a result, the total generation of hydrocarbons was calculated, amounting to about 2 billion tons of fuel equivalent.
Studies have shown that Triassic source rocks were capable of generating both liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. The results obtained make it possible to explain the remoteness of the accumulations from the generation centers by more than one hundred km, the presence of gas and gas condensate accumulations at a low maturity of the Jurassic petroleum source rocks, and sharp differences in the composition of oils from neighboring fields in the considered territory.
