|Changes in the structure of the hard-to-recover oil reserves caused by transition to the new classification|
|Currently almost two-thirds of the Russian recoverable petroleum reserves refer to hard-to-recover, and their share in the balance of reserves increases rapidly. The new approved "Guidelines for the use of classification of oil and combustible gas reserves and resources" provide clarifications on terminology and categories of hard-to-recover resources. The factual data proved that their share in production is significantly lower than the share in reserves. Methods of stimulation and ways to accelerate their development are described.

|Identification of non-assessed hydrocarbon accumulations in carbonate reservoirs of the Timan-Pechora Province on the basis of integrated interpretation of geological and geophysical data|
|One of the effective directions of exploration to renewing hydrocarbon resources is the identification and development of non-assessed accumulations within local prospects, where deep drilling activity was carried out in several years. New technique for identifying of hydrocarbon deposits in carbonate reservoirs of the Timan-Pechora Province is described. The description of objects are given and their parameters on the basis of complex interpretation of data of geologic-geophysical research are characterized.

|Oil and gas exploration in Republic of Komi|
|Perspective areas in Republic of Komi are as follows: Upper Devonian - Tournaisian oil and gas complex of Tsilegorsk area and southern Denisovsk Depression, in which Silurian oil and gas accumulation zones were identified. The prospects of Khoreyver Depression are associated with the Asselian-Sakmarian biostromes and bioherms. Oil and gas accumulation zones in Upper Ordovician deposits are expected in Kosyu-Rogow Depression and on the Chernyshev Ridge, where Silurian and Lower Devonian deposits are perspective too. The zones associated with large overthrust folds are related to the folded part of the Pre-Ural trough.

|Resource potential of heavy oil fields in European Russia|
|In the "old" oil-producing regions in the European part of the Russian Federation, the main source of mineral resources renewal is heavy oils. The monitoring of the mineral resources for the period 2006-2011 revealed the disproportion between the content of heavy oil in reserves and its shares in production for regions of the Russian Federation. The positive trends in the development of heavy oil fields are marked; and the measures to accelerate the pace of its cost-effective development are formulated.

|Resource potential of heavy oils of the Russian Federation: prospects of development|
|The resource potential of heavy oils of the Russian Federation (RF) is considered. The peculiarities of resource base of the RF petroleum provinces possessing by the considerable reserves of heavy oils are characterized. The basic problems connected with developing the resource base of heavy oils (introducing the specific technologies of production, processing and recovering valuable associated components) are analyzed. The prospective directions of using commodity products from heavy oils are shown. The peculiarities of determining the commercial importance, geological-economic and cost estimation of fields of heavy and high-viscous oils as complex raw materials and also tax privileges in developing are elucidated.

|Regarding environmental control at the objects of hydrocarbon production, refining and transportation|
|An analysis of a number of the environmental safety aspects being considered as the elements of the united system of environmental safety has been performed for a particular case of oil-gas industry - for the Timan-Pechora petroleum province oil-gas complex. The hierarchic structural scheme of environmental control has been proposed as a basis for ensuring environmental safety at the objects of oil-gas industry. In accordance with this scheme, each hierarchic level of environmental control (federal, regional local ones) is determined by its peculiar indices of environmental safety and respectively it controls them. On the basis of this scheme these indices have been ranked in accordance with the different levels of environmental control. Such ranking makes possible the more adequate estimation of environmental safety degree at the oil-gas industry objects and thus the optimization of planning the measures on environmental safety

|Sedimentary cover of Dezful province (Iran) – litho-stratigraphic features and paleogeographic sedimentation conditions|
|The article deals with the litho-stratigraphic data of the top of Dezful province sedimentary cover, where the studied Lali petroleum-perspective block is situated. Two stages of formation of the sedimentary cover of the Dezful Embayment province, which include several cycles of different tectonic regimes, are analyzed. Seven Paleozoic formations, eighteen Mesozoic and twelve Cenozoic are allocated in the sedimentary cover. The presence of carbonate reservoirs, oil source rocks, clay and evaporite clap rocks, the absence of long periods of erosion, have created the conditions for generation, migration, accumulation and preservation of large hydrocarbon accumulations in the region.

|The Timan-Pechora oil-bearing province – new tectonical insight|
|The results of analysis of geological and geophysical data, obtained during the last decades, have allowed us to develop a new tectonic model approach and substantiation of the whole structural interpretation of this area. Analysis of the results of reprocessing and interpretation of geological and geophysical data on the northern onshore area and the adjacent offshore area has permitted the drawing an unitary tectonic pattern for the whole Timan-Pechora basin- onshore and offshore.
A comparative analysis of oil-and-gas-bearing complexes with characteristics of hydrocarbons generation, migration and accumulation was carried out. Tectonic, lithological and geochemical peculiarities have provided to clarify the concept of oil-and-gas petroleum system , and to separate two new promising areas – Malozemelsk-Kolguevsk and Pre-Paykhoy-Pre-Southern-Novozemelsk.
