|Probabilistic methods application for oil geological research|
|The potential of involvement of probabilistic methods is discussed with regard to the specifics of oil geological issues arising from the need to consider sophisticated and multifactorial processes, information about which is most often very limited and characterized by a high level of uncertainty. The features of the mathematical framework that implements this approach are analyzed; and the methodological challenges and technological limitations are investigated. The conditions and criteria ensuring correct application of this tools and the reliability of the results and estimates, which directly determine the effectiveness of managerial decisions in the oil and gas sector formed on their basis, are analyzed.
