pdf  The pattern of sedimentary distribution in the Arctic Basin
A map of the sedimentary cover thickness of the Arctic Basin has been updated according to the recent data obtained during seismic surveys on the East Siberian, Chukchi sea shelves, and in the adjacent deep-sea Amerasian Basin. For the first time, a ring mega-trough has been pointed out as a system of ultradeep basins surrounding the Arctic Ocean, Barents and North Kara sea shelves. Across all the Arctic sea areas, the trough is the main area of sediment accumulation originated from different sides of the trough axis. Based on the analysis of the sedimentary flow pattern, a continental nature of the Amerasian Basin has been confirmed as well as an evident prolongation of elevations across the trough to the Eurasian shelf. Also the structural sequence of sedimentation has been considered in relation with stages of continental rifting in the Eurasian Basin during changing to the oceanic one.

Keywords: map of sedimentary cover thickness, source areas, troughs and basins, syn-rift and post-rift sedimentation, arched uplift, sedimentary flow channels and sedimentation areas, Arctic Basin.

pdf  New data to the structure assessment of prospects the Near-Yamal part of the southern Kara Sea shelf
Complex geophysical works give an opportunity to clarify the position of promising hydrocarbon zones. As a result of works, a revision of several previously known structures was carried out, and a new structure located in the transitional zone was discovered. Hydrocarbon prospectivity of the structure is confirmed by the complex of seismic, geochemistry and electrical exploration.

Keywords: transitional zone, regional study, seismic study, structure map, structure element, Kara Sea.
