pdf  Paleozoic sections of Turgai-Syrdarya and Ustyurt region - structural features (related to the petroleum potential of the cover’s deep layers)
The structure of the Paleozoic deposits of Turan young platform at the junction area of the Ural-Tien Shan folded area and the Kazakhstan continent during postcollisional stage of development is analyzed. The sedimentary and volcanic-sedimentary Paleozoic sections of the North Ustyurt, Turgay, Pre-Aral and Syrdarya depression were studied and compared. The history of tectonic development of the region is presented from the Late Proterozoic - Vendian up to the collisional and post-collisional processes in the Late Paleozoic. Paleozoic folded complex of the sedimentary cover should be considered as a significant additional hydrocarbons generator.
