|Oil and gas perspective targets of the sub salt Paleozoic of the Pre-Caspian basin|
|The data on the known and assumed subsalt oil and gas prospective structures (traps) of the Pre-Caspian depression are analyzed taking into account the new investigations. Among the major traps are dominated by carbonate (buildups) and terrigenous (fan deep sea deposits) types. A new type of erosion-lithological traps formed during sea level falls was revealed. Large undiscovered traps are located mainly at depths of 6-8 km. The present forecasted resources of hydrocarbons are significantly higher than have been explored ones.

|Paleozoic sections of Turgai-Syrdarya and Ustyurt region - structural features (related to the petroleum potential of the cover’s deep layers)|
|The structure of the Paleozoic deposits of Turan young platform at the junction area of the Ural-Tien Shan folded area and the Kazakhstan continent during postcollisional stage of development is analyzed. The sedimentary and volcanic-sedimentary Paleozoic sections of the North Ustyurt, Turgay, Pre-Aral and Syrdarya depression were studied and compared. The history of tectonic development of the region is presented from the Late Proterozoic - Vendian up to the collisional and post-collisional processes in the Late Paleozoic.
Paleozoic folded complex of the sedimentary cover should be considered as a significant additional hydrocarbons generator.
