To solve the problem of choosing the most priority areas for setting up geological exploration, a probabilistic-statistical model for predicting oil and gas content based on gas evolution data and morphology of the sedimentary cover of the Solikamsk Depression has been developed. The obtained models make it possible to construct schemes for predicting gas manifestations and zonal prediction of oil and gas potential within the Verkhnekamsk deposit of potassium and magnesium salts. Application of the results of this study will increase the success of geological exploration for the search for hydrocarbon deposits.
