pdf  Approaches to evaluation of Domanik sequences of Timan-Pechora Province as unconventional hydrocarbon source

A comprehensive assessment of the hydrocarbon potential of Domanik section of the Timan-Pechora province is realized on the basis of the study of lithofacial, biocenotic composition and organic matter. Preliminary division of bitumen on epigenetic and syngenetic is substantiated to determine the parameters of generation, primary migration and preservation of Domanik hydrocarbons accumulations. After detailed studying of domanikits the differences of organic matter maturity in several katagenesis range within the thickness of few tens of meters are shown. Oil and gas potential of Domanik Formation and Vetlasyansky member is proved.
Keywords: Domanik type deposits, petroleum source rocks, katagenesis, syngenetic and epigenetic bitumens, density of hydrocarbon generation, primary migration of hydrocarbons.

pdf  Adak area - main results of organic matter and hydrocarbon fluids’ study
The results of organic matter and hydrocarbon fluids’ study, obtained through wells’ drilling at the Adak area in the central part of the Chernyshev swell (Timan-Pechora basin), are presented. The type and biocenotic composition of organic matter were studied; the distribution of organic matter across the sections of wells 1, 2-Adak and 1-Kharutamylk was studied; the degree of catagenetic maturity was identified. The oil-and-gas source potential of rocks was evaluated. The specifics of oil fluids composition and their properties were analyzed. The geochemical data have proved oil and gas potential of the Domanic-Tournasian and Middle Ordovician – Lower Devonian carbonaceous oil and gas bearing complexes in the central part of the Chernyshev swell.

pdf  Methodological aspects of catagenesis study of sapropelic organic matter in oil and gas potential evaluation

The evaluation of catagenesis level of sapropelic organic matter from the Early Paleozoic and Late Proterozoic sediments causes certain methodological difficulties. A comparative analysis of different methods of organic matter study has been carried out in order to choose optimal methods for the determination of composition and the evaluation of organic matter catagenesis level. The efficient set of methods based on the joint application of palynological and infrared spectroscopic methods has been justified, which enables us to conduct systemic research of organic matter on three interrelated levels: taxonomic; geo-polymeric and molecular. The set of methods proposed can enhance the efficiency of oil and gas exploration.

pdf  Cluster approach to forming the regional system of industrial waste control

The principal indications of branch and regional clusters are considered. The basic principles of forming the waste cluster of a regional level are formulated. The classification of a waste cluster on the basis of waste composition and the objects of their generation is proposed. By analogy with branch clusters, the three-level structure of a waste cluster providing the interaction and efficient use of regional resources (secondary, administrative, economic, information and innovation resources) is considered. The leading role of resource-saving technologies in cluster making is shown. The example of forming the elements of a waste cluster in developing hydrocarbon fields is given.

pdf  Model of succession of marine and land biota in the sedimentary sequences of Permian deposits Timan-Pechora province and its significance for petroleum geology
The model of dynamics of alternating landscape complexes on the basis of analyzing the organic remnants revealed in palynologic preparations is proposed in the form of the generalized geomorphologic profile with consideration for changing the processes of sedimentation and biota alternation in transgressive-regressive cycles. The established facies complexes of plant remnants (including spores, pollen, algae, acritarch, mushrooms, bacteria, and others) from Paleozoic deposits hold a definite position within a lateral series of facies. As a result, the position of a shore line and the most productive source rocks on the profile is distinctly determined on the composition of organic remnants. It is of great importance in searches for oil and gas.

The problems of geoecolog researches of a cryolithozone are considered on the example of the Nenets Autonomous okrug. The algorithm of complex estimating the ecologic state of the field territory and geological medium is proposed for ensuring the ecologic and industrial safety in developing the oil and gas fields. The different scale maps being constructed on the proposed scheme can serve as the information basis for choosing the location of oil-gas branch objects and also for choosing the optimum complex of preventive environmental protection measures and establishing the priorities of conducting rehabilitation works in disturbed areas.

A comparative analysis of the results of the study of organic matter of the Silurian domanic deposits (the Kaliningrad region) is carried out by different methods used for evaluation of petroleum generation potential of rocks during regional geochemical research.
The reasonable estimate of the Silurian domanic deposits of the Kaliningrad region can be achieved in case of using of direct physical-chemical methods of organic matter research.

An analysis of a number of the environmental safety aspects being considered as the elements of the united system of environmental safety has been performed for a particular case of oil-gas industry - for the Timan-Pechora petroleum province oil-gas complex. The hierarchic structural scheme of environmental control has been proposed as a basis for ensuring environmental safety at the objects of oil-gas industry. In accordance with this scheme, each hierarchic level of environmental control (federal, regional local ones) is determined by its peculiar indices of environmental safety and respectively it controls them. On the basis of this scheme these indices have been ranked in accordance with the different levels of environmental control. Such ranking makes possible the more adequate estimation of environmental safety degree at the oil-gas industry objects and thus the optimization of planning the measures on environmental safety
