pdf  Geothermal conditions of the Cambrian deposits (Baltic petroleum province, Kaliningrad region)
A wide range of temperatures was observed in the underground water of the Cambrian deposits of Kaliningrad region. The geothermal gradients also vary widely from minimum values in the south of the Kaliningrad region to the maximum values in the northeast of the region (Novoserebryanskoe, East Gorinskoe fields). No correlation has been found between temperature changes and the age of the crystalline basement, its composition, thickness of crust blocks and gravitational fields is typical for the Cambrian deposits of the region.
The possibility of use the thermal energy waters of the region for the national economic purposes is discussed. With this aim the values of formation temperatures were adjusted to a depth of 1500 m. In the Kaliningrad region they can be used to heat the soil, in animal agriculture, domestic hot water service and greenhouse farming.

Key words: formation temperature, geothermal gradient, Cambrian deposits, groundwater, thermal energy water, Kaliningrad region.

pdf  Hydrogeological criteria for petroleum potential forecast (northern areas of Timan-Pechora province)
Genetic relationships between certain chemical types of groundwater and oil and gas accumulations form the basis of petroleum potential forecast using hydrogeological criteria. The hydrogeological parameters determining the peculiarities of development of hydrogeological systems of sedimentary basins are defined. The parameters depend on the lithology of sedimentary cover and history of geological development of basins. This enables us to develop a system of genesis-evolutionary hydrogeological criteria for petroleum potential forecast and to make the forecast of water-bearing complexes of the northern Timan Pechora province.

Key words: groundwater, sedimentation basin, gas-hydro-chemical indicators, hydrogeological criteria, petroleum potential forecast, Timan-Pechora province.

pdf  Prospects of the Ordovician carbonate deposits of the Gusevskaya oil formation

The main features of the geological structure of the Gusevskaya non-commercial formation (field) are considered. The combined analysis of well logging, seismic, sampling and testing data as well as core analysis of the Gusevskaya area have shown that almost all of the drilled wells, except wells 2 and 7, were drilled in the wrong geological conditions. The re-interpretation of geophysical data analysis allowed us to revise oil reserves in the ordovician formation. Not only the revision of the Gusevskaya oil formation prospects is possible but also the evaluation of oil-bearing potential of the Ordovician carbonate deposits within the eastern part of the Kaliningrad region.

Key words: oil, formation, field, oil reserves and resources, geophysical data analysis, testing, sampling, the Kaliningrad region.

pdf  Hydrocarbon resource base and the state of licensing of the Baltic oil region (Kaliningrad oblast)
The performed research allowed actualizing the hydrocarbon resource base of the Kaliningrad oblast as of 01.01.2009, to estimate the state of oil reserves by fields and the hydrocarbon prospects of prepared and revealed structures. Analyzing the coefficient of ratio of oil reserve growth (at the expense of exploration) to production has shown that it is less than 1.0 and in 2008 it was only 0.16. And, as the exploration maturity of the region increases (from the anticline traps of discovered fields to uplifts revealed in recent years), natural worsening the morphological parameters of local objects is observed and, as a result, the volume of resources in them decreases.
Key words: Kaliningrad oblast, oil, reserves, resources, licensing.

pdf  Regarding environmental control at the objects of hydrocarbon production, refining and transportation
An analysis of a number of the environmental safety aspects being considered as the elements of the united system of environmental safety has been performed for a particular case of oil-gas industry - for the Timan-Pechora petroleum province oil-gas complex. The hierarchic structural scheme of environmental control has been proposed as a basis for ensuring environmental safety at the objects of oil-gas industry. In accordance with this scheme, each hierarchic level of environmental control (federal, regional local ones) is determined by its peculiar indices of environmental safety and respectively it controls them. On the basis of this scheme these indices have been ranked in accordance with the different levels of environmental control. Such ranking makes possible the more adequate estimation of environmental safety degree at the oil-gas industry objects and thus the optimization of planning the measures on environmental safety

pdf  Principles of geoecologic zoning of a cryolithozone as the basis for ensuring the ecologic and industrial safety of subsurface use in the north of the Timan-Pechora province
The problems of geoecolog researches of a cryolithozone are considered on the example of the Nenets Autonomous okrug. The algorithm of complex estimating the ecologic state of the field territory and geological medium is proposed for ensuring the ecologic and industrial safety in developing the oil and gas fields. The different scale maps being constructed on the proposed scheme can serve as the information basis for choosing the location of oil-gas branch objects and also for choosing the optimum complex of preventive environmental protection measures and establishing the priorities of conducting rehabilitation works in disturbed areas.

pdf  Geological and economic aspects of developing the hydrocarbon resource base, Kaliningrad oblast
The overwhelming majority (76%) of the Kaliningrad oblast reserve fund objects are characterized by the smallest localized recoverable hydrocarbon resources in not excess of 100 thousand t. These objects contain one third of total oil resources of identified and prepared structures of this region. Within the Kaliningrad region characterizing by the predominance of the smallest objects in the structure of the prospective resource base, the profitability of developing the considerable part of oil potential will depend on exploration efficiency (mainly on wildcat drilling success). Tax privileges are necessary for decreasing the profitability threshold of reserves and including a part of the resource base unattractive for investors in industrial turnover. Their volume must be determined individually by each object and must depend on oil cost and the cost price of its production. For this region, in which all producing oil is exported, the only essential direction of forming such privileges is a severance tax.
Key words: petroleum potential, economic estimation, profitability, localized oil resources, oil production.

pdf  Evolutionary-genetic hydrogeological criteriaof sedimentary basin petroleum prospects
The paragenetic and genetic relationship between certain chemical types of groundwater and oil and gas accumulations forms the basis for petroleum potential prospects evaluation using gaz-hydro-geo-chemical indicators. At this stage the forecast is carried out at regional, less often – at zonal level. Conducted petroleum potential forecast by the methods of mathematical statistics enables to reach the level of petroleum assessment of local structures. Basic hydrogeological parameters of hydrocarbon potential assessment have been established. These parameters determine the peculiarities of hydrogeological systems of the sedimentation basins development, depending on the lithology of the sedimentary performance and geologic history of the basin. This allows to develop a system of evolutionary genetic hydrogeological criteria for petroleum potential forecast.
Key words: groundwater water-soluble gases, sedimentary basins, gaz-hydro-geo-chemical indicators, hydrogeological criteria, petroleum prospects.
