Prospects and problems of computer microtomography using for core samples studies | |
A review of the key issues arising during application of computer microtomography method for geological samples studying is presented. Among these issues are the following: improving the quality and spatial resolution of tomograms, separation of mineral matrix into components, voids identification, study of fluid that fills the pores and permeability determination. The causes of issues are described; the ways to solve them on a level user- interpreter are provided.
Keywords: computer microtomography, core, porosity, permeability, mineral composition, X-ray density. |
