Characteristics of the methodical approach to forecasting hydrocarbon traps in the Vogulkin strata of the Abalak Formation of the Shaimsk petroleum bearing area of Western Siberia | |
A brief description of the lithological composition of the Abalak Formation, represented by two types of section, is given. The section associated with the Vogulkin strata, including the P group levels, is the main one in terms of oil and gas potential. The objects are characterized by a complex structure, therefore, to study the productive interval of the section in detail, a standard-free classification of the wave field was used, obtained using the Taxonomy program. The results of subsequent drilling have proven the effectiveness of using this method and technology for mapping hydrocarbon traps in the P-group levels. Assessment of petroleum potential of the Western Siberia territory at the regional stage of research | |
An analysis of the discovery of new fields in the 21st century within the territories of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Western Siberia was carried out. This study showed a decline in the dynamics associated with the deterioration of the structure of the hydrocarbon resource base, respectively, the depletion of the fund of promising oil and gas facilities. On the other hand, the analysis carried out in the period 1996-2021 showed a high potential for forecasting the oil and gas potential of the subsoil based on the frequency decomposition method of structural maps and planning of geological exploration activity.
