pdf Characteristics of the methodical approach to forecasting hydrocarbon traps in the Vogulkin strata of the Abalak Formation of the Shaimsk petroleum bearing area of Western Siberia
A brief description of the lithological composition of the Abalak Formation, represented by two types of section, is given. The section associated with the Vogulkin strata, including the P group levels, is the main one in terms of oil and gas potential. The objects are characterized by a complex structure, therefore, to study the productive interval of the section in detail, a standard-free classification of the wave field was used, obtained using the Taxonomy program. The results of subsequent drilling have proven the effectiveness of using this method and technology for mapping hydrocarbon traps in the P-group levels.
