The poorly studied East-Paidugin megadepression and the structures of its framing in the south-east of Western Siberia are new territories and new stratigraphic levels that are promising for predictive prospecting studies on the Lower Jurassic and pre-Jurassic petroleum bearing strata.
Paleotemperature modeling was performed in cross section of 26 deep wells. It is established that the value of the heat flow density varies within 36-56 mW/m2. The modeling is based on solving the heat conduction equation of a horizontally layered solid with a moving upper boundary, using original computer technology.
Schematic maps of the deep heat flow density on the Paleozoic basement top were constructed for the research area, and mapping of the catagenetic generation foci of the Togur oil was carried out.
Express-evaluation of the oil generation density identified potentially productive zones for oil accumulations searching in the Lower Jurassic and Pre-Jurassic sections. These productive zones represent the entire East-Paidugin megadepression, including the Vargat mezodepression, as well as the western part of the Vladimir megaledge (the western slope of the Belonogov mezoval) and the eastern part of the Parabel megaledge (the northeastern slope of the Kolpashev mezoswell).

Based on paleotemperature modeling carried out for the Lower Jurassic Togur Formation and determining of the relative density of its generation potential, a zoning of the studied area was realised. The area was ranked according to the level of prospects for further research to search for petroleum accumulations of pre-Jurassic section in the southern part of the Tomsk Region within the Bakchar mesodepression and adjacent structures. The ranking took into account the reservoirs quality for different petrotypes of the pre-Jurassic basement rocks as well as the density of tectonic faults in the described areas.
