Geochemical characteristics of Gamburtsev shaft oils | |
The composition of cyclic and acyclic hydrocarbon biomarkers, aromatic hydrocarbons and dibenzothiophenes of the oils of the Gamburtsev shaft was investigated. The hydrocarbon composition of the oils of the three studied fields – Cherpayu, Khasyrey and Nyadeyu is almost identical; these oils share a common source of organic matter. Based on the complex of the obtained data, it was found that the oils were produced by carbonate-clay source rocks with a significant contribution of the algal initial organic matter. It is likely that the oils are syngenetic to the host Silurian-Lower Devonian. The thermal maturity of the oils corresponds to the oil window peak.
