| Results of geological exploration activity for oil and gas within the Chernyshev Ridge and the Western Pre-Polar Ural slope | |
| The results of the analysis of geological exploration for oil and gas in the northern part of the Pre-Ural Foredeep and the Western Ural area of linear folded-thrust structures are presented. Currently, the prospects are associated with these areas and a significant amount of exploration activity has already been carried out, including the MOGT-3D seismic survey and drilling. The greatest hydrocarbon resources are predicted in the Carboniferous - Lower Permian carbonate section. High exploration risks are associated with the widespread development of thrust tectonics and the complicated nature of carbonate reservoirs.
