| Forecast of large hydrocarbon fields is a basis of strategy of region development | |
| The brief summary of state of discovering the large hydrocarbon fields in the Russian Federation and also some signs and ways of forecasting the objects of this rank is given. The geophysical signs of presence of large fields in the sedimentary basins are considered. The concept of a basis element of forecasting such fields is given; two its direction (geological-statistic and probabilistic) are shown. The prospects of discovering the large fields in the undistributed fund of the Russian onshore and offshore are estimated. More than 50 fields with total oil reserves of about 650 million t and gas reserves to 800 billion m3 are expected to be discoveed in the seven most prospective petroleum provinces of Russia.
