It has been shown that underestimation of the differentiation of mean or interval velocities in the pre-reef, reef, and back-to-face facies leads to errors in determining depths on structural maps up to 100-200 m by the example of structural structures along the reflecting horizons under the Upper Devonian reefs of various tectonic elements of the Timan-Pechora Province. Seismic survey results using the common depth point -2, 3D. Errors in seismic facies analysis can be one of the reasons for the lack of discovery under the reefs stretching for thousands of kilometers of newly discovered hydrocarbon deposits at the present stage of prospecting.
