In order to expand the resource base, regional activity was carried out to create a seismogeological model based on a comprehensive generalization of data on the geological and geophysical study, structure and petroleum potential of the North Serginsk zone (northwestern part of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra). In tectonic terms the territory is located within the Sherkalin megadepression of the Trans-Ural geoblock. The analysis made it possible to identify regional features of the geological structure of the area and substantiate the prospects for petroleum potential, determine the main criteria for the presence of accumulations, and perform an up-to-date assessment of the resource base of hydrocarbons in the sedimentary cover and pre-Jurassic basement.
