pdf  Genus SCYTOPHYLLUM BОRNEMANN, 1856 (PTERIDOSPERMAE) – typing, systematic structure and stratigraphic significance
The history of distinguishing, specified diagnosis, systematic structure of a genus, and stratigraphic confinement in the stratigraphic and key sections of Europe of the genus Scytophyllum Bornemann, 1856, are provided. A revision of the fossil plant remains collection of the Timan-Pechora petroleum province stored in the Museum VNIGRI was carried out on the basis of newly made epidermal preparations; the systematic composition of the genus was updated, and previously and newly identified taxa were classified. The description of the 7 types of Scytophyllum with diagnoses and refined stratigraphic confinement is provided. For continental deposits of the Middle Triassic (Ladinian) of the European paleofitokhoriya the undoubted importance of stratigraphic genus Scytophyllum at the level of an ortotaxon is revealed.

The lithological and facial characteristics of the Lower-Middle continental Upper Triassic of the Timan-Pechora petroleum Province are provided in the second part of the final research study (stratigraphy, lithology and paleontology). The boundary lithofacies zones and the intra-zonal correlation of the Middle Triassic lithostratigraphic units on the basis of their age-adjusted and age-dating of the area of variegated and gray sections as a whole are specified.

Article is devoted to the first results of the analysis and study of plants macroremains collected at the end of the last century by geologists and paleobotanists of VNIGRI from Triassic deposits of the Timan-Pechora province. This was possible by the need to substantiate the age of gray-colored Triassic strata and its stratigraphic units. The systematic composition of cycads group and stratigraphic confinement of taxa were clarified. The diagnosis of the Doratophyllum genus was supplemented with epidermal signs. The typification of previously allocated three Pechora species - D. acuminata Chramova, D. synensis Chramova, D. vjatkensis Chramova was given; their diagnoses and stratigraphic confinement were clarified. For the first time for the flora of variegated strata of the region (Naryanmarskaya, Syninskaya suites) the megasporophylls of cycads of the Dioonitocarpidium genus was described, commonly known as part of Middle Triassic (Ladinian) floras of Europe.
