Features of basement structure of the southern part of Vilyuy syneclise | |
Based on the analysis of seismic time sections along regional profiles made in the southern part of the Vilyuy hemisyneclise, dynamic anomalies that carry information about the features of the structure of the Archean-Lower Proterozoic basement have been identified. Using the experience of the Tatarstan basement study, in the Sinsk area dynamic anomalies in the upper part of the basement were interpreted as decompacted zones. These zones may represent high-capacity reservoirs and may be of interest for exploratory drilling in the future. Volumetric dynamic anomalies detected in the earth's crust at considerable depths and interpreted as energy-active (energy-saturated) volumes of the geological environment are of conciderable scientific and practical interest. The outlined connection of such anomalies with the location of large finds of important mineral resources (oil, gas, diamonds, uranium) makes their study a priority. One of such anomalies (Suntar) was found in the southwestern part of the Vilyuy area. Analysing this structure could be assumed the presence of kimberlite fields, as well as hydrocarbon accumulations in the studied part of the Suntar arch and its northeastern slope. This suggests the necessity for a case study of the identified anomaly. Considering that such a promising object in the Vilyuy hemisyneclise is not unique, it is advisable to start a step-by-step generalization of the results of geophysical exploration right now. Along with the study of the sedimentary structural cover and basement, one of the main goals of such a generalization should be the creation of a tectonodynamic map of this most promising territory. To fully solve these and other problems, it is necessary to carry out regional geophysical recearch on profiles that completely intersect the entire syneclise, more clearly coordinate the ongoing and planned regional activity, cover the entiere Vilyuy syneclise with modern aeromagnetic and airborne gravity surveys completely with the fulfilly study of adjacent tectonic elements. The regional seismic exploration carried out in the southern part of the Vilyuy hemisyneclise made it possible to The regional seismic exploration carried out in the southern part of the Vilyuy hemisyneclise made it possible to obtain new data and to improved the information on the geological structure of the territory, to recognice promising objects for oil and gas, including a large, gas-promising dynamic anomaly and significant areas of reduction in the thickness of the Upper Paleozoic and Lower Mesozoic strata, where the formation of traps associated with pinch-out and lithological replacements is quite likely. On this basis, the prospects for the oil and gas content of the studied area have been significantly expanded. In addition, in its eastern part (Sinsk area), the position of the West Yakutsk reef barrier has been clarified and the horst-like structures have been identified along the lower levels of the sedimentary cover. The directions of further exploration activity, including the drilling of parametric wells, are proposed. The presentation of geological results is accompanied by an analysis of the scientific issues of seismic exploration in the southern part of the Vilyuy Syneclise. It is shown that in conditions of poor geological and geophysical knowledge, the significance of the results of regional seismic exploration in the study of the structure and prospects of oil and gas content increases many times. It seems extremely important to sound and careful planning of such studies in the studied region. A large gas prospect in the Vilyuy Syneclise | |
According to the results of regional seismic surveys of last years, a large amplitude anomaly was detected in the southern part of the Vilyuy Syneclise (Eastern Siberia). The joint analysis of seismic data, results of aeromagnetic and gravimetric surveys and resistivity prospecting indicates that the obtained anomaly is due to a important geological heterogeneity, most likely associated with the gas type of prospect. Judging by the size of the studied anomaly, it may indicate the presence of a significant gas prospect in the section that asks further targeted study. There are few versions of the gas prospect definition proposed in this study, which also includes a principal model of gas fields and probable prospects of Kapshagay ridge generation in the wedging areas on the southern flank of the Vilyuy Syneclise.
