New data on the molecular-structural composition of bitumoids from well 5 of the Ziaetdin field (Republic of Uzbekistan)] | |
Using IR Fourier spectroscopy, the features of the structural-group composition of bitumens isolated from Turonian and Cenomanian rocks of well 5 of the Ziaetdin field (New Uzbekistan) were studied. A comparative analysis of the obtained characteristics was carried out. Distinctive features of the Turonian bitumens were revealed. The conducted studies should be considered as the first experience of using IR spectrometry in the territory of the Zerafshan Depression, which may contribute to solving the spectroscopy issue of oil and gas potential prospects. Formation and distribution of heavy oils and bitumens in the Bukhara-Khiva region | |
Within the Bukhara-Khiva petroleum region, in addition to oil and gas fields, a large number of accumulations of solid bitumen, heavy and high-viscosity oils have been discovered. The geological structure and bitumen and oil content in the stratigraphic range of distribution of these accumulations - from the Paleogene to the Paleozoic are considered. Within the Zirabulak-Ziaetda mountains, six bituminous bearing areas have been identified: Mayzak, Sukaity I, Sukaity II, Chadyr, Zapadnoe and Karaiz. According to them, forecast resources are calculated. Also known is the Karaiz uplift with numerous bituminous bearing areas. The distribution surface is more than 60 square kilometers. Рromising resources of bitumen in C3 category were estimated for the selected objects. Within the Bukhara step, the predicted resources of bitumen areas are more than 352.0 million tons. This gives grounds for setting up prospecting and exploration activity and organizing experimental sites for the development of unconventional methods for hydrocarbons extracting. Assessment of hydrocarbon potential of the Ustyurt central part Lower Jurassic, based on geological and geochemical data | |
This paper is the result of a comprehensive geological and geochemical study of the mineralogical content and dispersed organic matter composition of the Lower Jurassic sections. Analysis of geological and geochemical data allowed to identify the Lower Jurassic section as the most promising object for the search for new hydrocarbon accumulation in the Ustyurt region of Uzbekistan. The Lower Jurassic accumulations of the Kuanysh-Koskalinsk and Berdakh areas are proposed as one of the main areas of geological exploration, permitting to ensure the growth of hydrocarbon reserves of the Ustyurt region.
