pdf Formation and distribution of heavy oils and bitumens in the Bukhara-Khiva region
Within the Bukhara-Khiva petroleum region, in addition to oil and gas fields, a large number of accumulations of solid bitumen, heavy and high-viscosity oils have been discovered. The geological structure and bitumen and oil content in the stratigraphic range of distribution of these accumulations - from the Paleogene to the Paleozoic are considered. Within the Zirabulak-Ziaetda mountains, six bituminous bearing areas have been identified: Mayzak, Sukaity I, Sukaity II, Chadyr, Zapadnoe and Karaiz. According to them, forecast resources are calculated. Also known is the Karaiz uplift with numerous bituminous bearing areas. The distribution surface is more than 60 square kilometers. Рromising resources of bitumen in C3 category were estimated for the selected objects. Within the Bukhara step, the predicted resources of bitumen areas are more than 352.0 million tons. This gives grounds for setting up prospecting and exploration activity and organizing experimental sites for the development of unconventional methods for hydrocarbons extracting.

Depending on the peculiarities of the geological, hydrogeological, technical and economic conditions for the development of gas and gas condensate fields in the Ustyurt petroleum region, the final gas recovery from terrigenous Jurassic reservoirs can vary widely.
The increase in the final gas recovery is one of the main issues of the rational development of gas and gas condensate fields and depends on geological and technological factors.

pdf On the question of oil and gas perspectives in the central part of the Zarafshan Depression
The article discusses the features of the geological and tectonic structure of the Zarafshan Depression, characterized by a pronounced block structure, wide development of regional faults and intersecting smaller transverse diagonal faults. In the structural section, two main tectonic elements are distinguished: Paleozoic and Mesozoic-Cenozoic structural levels. The Paleozoic structural stage is represented by intensively dislocated metamorphic sedimentary, intrusive and effusive rocks of a wide age range. The Mesozoic-Cenozoic structural stage includes weakly dislocated marine and strata of the Jurassic, Cretaceous, Paleogene, Neogene and Anthropogene.
The main direction of further study of the prospects for oil and gas potential should be the determination of the configuration and nature of the systems of faults in the sedimentary cover to identify the migration paths of hydrocarbons and near-fault zones as an area of possible petroleum accumulation.
