The history of oil generation by organic matter of Bazhenov Formation in the northern part of Nyurol megadepression (Western Siberia) | |
The results of one-dimensional modeling of oil and gas generation by organic matter of the non-oil and oil-bearing Bazhenov Formation in a well network within the northern part of Nyurol megadepression are presented. Modeling considering the mixed lithology of the Bazhenov Formation has no significant effect on the resource assessment, but refines the most important parameter of the hydrocarbon system, which is porosity. Based on the obtained data and taking into account the tectonic history, the history of liquid hydrocarbon generation has been reconstructed. The intensity of generation in different parts of the megadepression and adjacent structures depends on their spatial association with the zones of development of Triassic graben-rifts, as well as the relative growth of paleo-uplifts with the bending of the Western Siberian geosyncline. Recent tectonic movements have had a significant impact on the dynamics of oil generation. Characterization of Bazhenov Formation productive interval: a case study of West-Kvenzer area, southeastern Western Siberia | |
The article discusses the concept of Bazhenov reservoir rocks exemplified by a oil productive interval of the Bazhenov Formation cross-section in the West-Kvenzer area, southeastern Western Siberia. Characteristics of the analyzed interval are derived from the interpretation of the results obtained by the geophysics, lithology, rock physics and organic geochemistry integrating methods. It has been shown that the studied oil saturated interval is represented by kerogen-siliceous and siliceous mixtites. The studied rocks are found to be identical in terms of the lithological composition, organic matter geochemistry, geophysical and petrophysical characteristics. Most of the mobile (allochthonous) bitumoids (chloroform extractable bitumens) generated by the Bazhenov Formation within the West-Kvenzer area are concentrated in open pore space, rather than being fracture-filling type. Lithological interpretation of well logging data belonging to Bazhenov Formation of the south-eastern regions of Western Siberia | |
The article presents the results of revealing the relationship between siliceous, clay, carbonate and organic substances and pyrite from the types of electrical and radioactive logging in Bazhenov Formation. The influence of the content of the listed rock-forming components on the geophysical characteristics is described. The volume lithological model of the Archin-47 well, constructed on the basis of established correlations, is presented. Methodology of quantitative evaluation of the Bazhenov Formation hydrocarbon resources | |
Conceptual models are formulated and quantitative predictive functions of reservoir porosity, fluid saturation, effective thickness rate of the Bazhenov Formation and its geological and geochemical characteristics are obtained. These parameters were used to predict oil and gas potential and quantitative assessment of oil resources in the Bazhenov Formation in the southeastern regions of the Western Siberian Basin. Structure of the bazhenov reservoir and forecast of oil content of the Yu0 productive level of the Bazhenov Formation in the south-eastern regions of Western Siberia | |
For the South-Eastern regions of the West Siberian oil and gas province, a model of the structure of the Bazhenov reservoir and criteria for selecting areas that are promising for detecting oil accumulations in the productive level of the South-West Bazhenov Formation are proposed. According to the our criteria, the following characteristics of the object of research are given: the thickness of rocks of the Bazhenov Formation, the thickness of rocks with a Corg content > 7%, catagenesis degree of organic matter, the thickness of the underlying and overlying fluid barriers, current reservoir temperatures of rocks and reservoir pressures in the Bazhenov Formation. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the materials that characterize the above criteria, promising zones of two categories are identified. The Central-Nyurol zone is assigned to the 1st category (the most promising), and the North-Nyurol, East-Nyurol, South-Nyurol, West-Parabel, and Ust-Tym zones are assigned to the 2nd category. The results of the study were used to shed new light on the geological structure of the Bazhenov Formation, identify new exploration blocks containing hydrocarbon accumulations in the Bazhenov Formation and its stratigraphic equivalents on the basis of the already existing criteria and using an additional criterion, the presence of potential reservoirs within the J0 productive unit. The integrated analysis of the available data, a map showing potential oil accumulations within the Bazhenov Formation was compiled based on the analysis of the available data. The potential exploration targets include areas with the presence of the Bazhenov and Lower Tutleim (lower part) Formations. Category I targets include areas in the northeast of the western Western Siberian sedimentary basin. Category II targets are located in the central siberian regions.
